Popular Local Folk Act Stagbriar to End Hiatus at November's Skanksgiving

The biggest get for Skansgiving IV: A New Hope is Stagbriar. The Alex and Emily McCollum-led indie folk band last played a show four years ago. Although the group only put out one album during its previous tenure, it was beloved for the striking power of the brother-sister duo’s knotty, elusive lyrical style and commitment to soaring, gorgeous unison vocals. Musically, Stagbriar was constantly shifting and pushing its boundaries, going from early singer-songwriter-y efforts to a fierce, muscular sound as new members brought both more punch and atmospherics, leading to the kind of indie folk that feels big enough to headline festivals and fill arenas.
